I have been a lifelong student in pursuit of new knowledge and excellence of being. I'm not perfect, never have been, never will be. But that doesn't stop me from working to improve myself.
My graduate career at the University of North Texas has seen me take my journalism career to greater heights, while discovering new passions with the disciplines of anthropology and information science.
As an interdisciplinary information science doctoral candidate, my dissertation project delved into the information behavior and social networks of a marginalized population of women. It draws upon the ethnographical work of the late Elfreda Chatman and takes a fresh look at Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
Combining the three disciplines of journalism, anthropology and information science has pushed me to learn more, be more and do more. To the future and all that it brings!
